The Dow has remained below the 8,000 mark for more than few consecutive days. 8,000 has provided a psychological floor since last November and it should be of concern that it appears to be crumbling a bit.

Yet I spent three hours in traffic coming home from Atlanta for just about the entire distance. When I went to Nordstrums at Phipps at 8:00 PM on a Thursday night I had trouble getting a parking space. And afterwards when I went to eat a sushi dinner at the bar at Prime’s in Lenox I took the last seat at the bar.

While the numbers clearly indicate we are in a recession, my eyes and the huge increase in the money supply still leave me thinking the market is due for a recovery.
