An economic truth that seems lost during the political silly season is that the government is abolutely incapable of creating jobs at any level.

To create a government job they must take taxes from someone else to fund that job. That lost revenue from the private sector cost at the very least as many jobs as the government ‘created’ with that money.

But given the greater innefficiency and less accountability to public desires, it will likely cost more jobs in the private sector than the government created.

If the government created as many jobs as they claimed or promised we would have eliminated unemployment for all of the last 30 years.
