The OWS movement fizzled.  What a surprise.

They did not understand what they were protesting, they did not understand the institutions they demonized; and most of all they did not understand how much that they were part of the problem.

Wall Street certainly had merited accountability.  They certainly broke a trust of prudence.  But protests and shitting on cop cars will change nothing.  If these morons really want to put a hurt on these guys there are very simple steps they can take.  But like most people agonizing over a failed relationship, they all want to discuss how the other guy must change.

If they really want to screw Wall Street, here are a few suggestions.

Ditch the credit cards– every credit card transaction takes 2-3 % or more from the merchant and puts it into the bankers’ pocket. By paying cash you can give that money instead to a local merchant.  Your action can transfer money from the greedy bankers to the local merchant.

Yes, credit cards are very handy for online transactions and for keeping records, but just make a habit of paying cash whenever you can.  You are more in control of the money supply than you think.

Ditch the debt–  live within your means. Pay off your mortgage sooner. Reduce credit card use (see above).  Stop paying interest to your demons.  If you pay credit card interest and you demonize banks- you are part of the problem.

Adjust your life to avoid paying money to people you hate. Move closer to work and buy less gasoline.  Buy stainless water bottles and a Brita Filter and stop buying plastic bottles.

You get the picture.  But these protests are a waste of time and accomplish nothing.  They make you look like fools and show your incredible ignorance.

Real actions like these suggestions happen every day.  It is called a market economy.  Giants of industry and commerce cower to the power of consumers.  Consumers use their social conscience every day in every aisle of the supermarket.

You may want to give it a try.  It beats shitting on cop cars and sleeping in parks.
