After the incredible raid on Enetebbe by the Israeli military in 1976 (if you do not know about this raid, you owe it to yourself to read about it here), others were emboldened to take bold action against such terrorists, and at least for a while such actions became much less frequent.

While we are concerned about the backlash from Al Qaeda followers, we may also expect  timid opposition to Bin Ladin  to become bolder.  I predcit a increase in the defeat of Al Qaeda operatives,  some from the results of our own intelligence, but also from other opponents who will realize that their enemy is just another mortal thug that can be beaten.

America is known for its impatience. Our resolve in pursuing this murderer, across political opposition, will change this image and empower others to strengthen their resolve to fight these fanatics.
