Apparently may of the wealthier unemployed have a bit of difficulty facing their wife and kids after losing their high paying jobs. Their fragile male egos need a tender boost.

In Slate Sudhir Venkatesh writes of research in the upscale prostitute business. He notes that 40% percent of the transactions do not involve sex. Some of the prostitutes are so market savvy that they avoid a heavy concentration of clients in a single sector. The clients will keep seeing the prostitutes until their money runs out.
