This campaign has been interesting. Many pundits from both ends of the spectrum have predicted this campaign wrong. A few months ago even my most conservative friends had predicted a Hillary landslide. Now it appears that even her party’s nomination is at risk.

Everyone has an opinion so here is mine. We are seeing a wide divergence between the media perspective of the way it is and the average voter’s view. This is obvious as we now realize that there is more depth to the Republican side than evangelical theocrats and the rigid litmus tests of Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter.

And we realize that while the Clintons have been the media darlings of the liberal side of the media they clearly are not to be coronated by a Democratic party of liberal lackeys. Even if Hillary does get the nomination the split in the party over this campaign clearly demonstrates there are many independent minded Democrats, who do not toe a party line dictated by elites and pundits.

While the left and right media lament the two parties’ search for their souls, what we are seeing is a contest decided by voters; not pundits and political elitists. We are seeing American democracy at its best.

Then again I could be full of it.
