With Israel in a difficult demographic situation; I have often promoted a more open policy to conversion. It would seem to be a survival issue. The following article from the Jerusalem Post
addresses the topic.

Some belive the Jews are arrogant because conversion is not a focus. I belive it has more to do with threats of torture and death for 2,000 years in Europe both for anyone who solicits a convert and for anyone who participates. In ancient Israel it was not uncommon.

Marriage and assimilation have taken a big toll on Jewish population. We should encourage interest in conversion, but not at the expense of intolerance of other religions; tolerance first, very voluntary conversion second. This circumcision thing is not exactly a great marketing idea.

I do mean conversion to Judaism, not this messianic version of Judaism. We have a word for Jews who believe in Jesus.

They are called Christians.

God bless them.
